Advancement in rank is based on age, attitude, attendance, and skill retention; therefore, students will test for promotion when the instructor believes the student has obtained these attributes.
Testing fees are a separate fee from the monthly dues.  The promotion belt will usually be ordered after testing fees have been paid.
